Question for all writers...

I see a lot of people are either writing forum novels or are contributing to those started by someone else. Since none of us are allowed to write an Indy story for profit, does anyone here have any non-Indy writing their working on? And have any of us been published? I know Nick Kismet has an agent for his novel but how bout the rest of us.
I've been working on a mystery novel for quite awhile but it's not ready for submission to a publisher.
