Hi everybody

I´ve just returned from my vacation in France yesterday and I thought
I´d give you a report on Disneyland Paris´ Indiana Jones attractions.
Disneyland Paris offers a roller coaster ride called “Indiana Jones et
le temple du péril” (roughly translated “IJ & the temple of doom or
peril) based loosely on the mine car sequence in TOD. The line was of
course very long but I was in high spirits and waited patiently. The
line surroundings are very nice, it looks like an archeological camp
site with tents and a muddy truck. There are also hidden loudspeakers
playing music from the trilogy. The ride itself is unfortunately too
damn short!! After waiting in line for 90 minutes you expect a little
more than a bumpy two minute ride. The only thing on the plus side was
the loop. Another thing is that the ride is out in the open, it would
have been much better if it had been inside a cave complex like Space
mountain which by the way is much more fun and indy-spirited.
Maybe I´d just got my hopes up too high, it was kinda fun but it was
over way too soon. Another disappointment was the souvenir shop, lots
and lots of crap with a gold Indy logo stamped onto them. The hats
were (of course) complete and utterly crap, in comparison to them the
Jawa Trader hat looks like the real thing. There was no sign of the
much-talked about Disney Indy- Jacket, only wallets and a damn plastic
Luger pistol with Indy´s name on it. I bought a t-shirt and that was
it. I don´t mean to sound too negative but I was expecting more. The
other rides are great, but there is no reason to go all the way to
France just for the Indy ride, no matter how fanatic you are.
