Making a Ra Headpiece prop

Well here I sit with my little package of Sculpey with my lucasfilm archives book getting ready to dive into making a staff of ra headpiece. If this works I'll sell them to anyone interested for a flat fee...none of that ebay stuff for forum members...anywhoo...anyone have any tips on making props, sculpting, ect?? any info would be great...thanks
