Hey. I'm willing to bet that Lucas copyrighted (is that a word?) the
name "Indiana Jones", but the name "Indiana" belongs in the public
forum due to the fact that it is also a state's name. I have no idea
as to the legality of the name "Indy", but my friend named his dog
Indy, and so far no Lucasfilm lawyers have showed up at his door.
ATF agents have, but that's another story entirely. My two cents.
