I'm a huge Indy fan. I'm a huge Marx Brothers fan. When I saw Saturday that the BRAVO channel was to show one of the brothers' films I'd never seen before, "A Night in Casablanca", I was naturally excited to watch it.

Imagine my surprise and pleasure to discover that the film, made in 1946, shares an awful lot with "Raiders of the Lost Ark". Okay, put aside the major differences. Marx Brothers are extreme comedy, Indy is extreme action adventure. But both films had a lot in common. Both featured exotic desert locations, evil Nazi villains, and stolen treasure, plus each has a VERY suspensful scene where the hero(es) make(s) off with the hard-earned treasure from the clutches of the enemy... The brothers have a nasty time boarding a German plane, Indy has a bit of a time beneath the truck holding the Ark.

I just thought I'd bring it up, since it brought something of a convergence to two of my favorite movies.
