Cooper vs. Wested

For some time I have heard that the Wested was the one true Jacket. Now I heard Cooper made a few before they went out of business. I was planning on buying one or the other, but I dont know wich one. I have heard that the Cooper is a lot more durable, Is this true? I live in hot weather climate, wich is better for hot weather? And why is the cooper more expensive? Johnson
