I had something less "literary" in mind. I am thinking of Indy more along the lines of the Ian Fleming Bond stories, or more specifically, the Dirk Pitt novels of Clive Cussler.
Incidentallly, it isn't necessary to write action in brisk, broad strokes. You can in fact deliver the goods at a reasonable pace that fully describes the action without bogging down.


: The only trick I know for this (not that you asked for any advice) is that in action sequences the writer must stick to shorter sentences and not spend too much time on exposition or examining the hero's feelings. There's time for that after the action dies down.

Now, was that directed at me? Because i love constructive criticism, but i don't want to go off fixing a problem if there isn't one. get back to me on this please.
