Snap brim existed in the cowboy days, and it is literally what it
sounds like.
the front part of brim is snaped down and there is a clear fold
line seen extending tangential to the front part of crown on either
side of brim.

however, apply to fedora (gentlemens dress hat), it just means that
brim is turned down in front while on the back and side it is turned
up. (hat usualy comes with all side of brim turned up and when you
wear it, you just snap the front part down).
there is no clear folding line in this case, just a smooth transition
from turned up brim in back and turned down brim in front.

fedora can be worn with both front and back brim turned down, but
that will make it look more like a Gambler or Outback style.
