: : As I write this I am also wearing a W&G polo shirt. I wrote Lands End last week and got a replay that basically said my comments would be given to the executives. If I was reading between the lines though it sounded as if the decision had been already made. I am just curious as to what Lands End was asking for the name rights, because you think someone would have jumped all over this one. The name alone outfitted everyone from Teddy Roosevelt to Ernest Hemingway. Danno

And the REALLY funny thing I liked was on one of the Willis and Geiger catalogs I received toward the end of the companies existance. It was a picture of Teddy's safari camp in his 1909 (I believe) trip to Africa. Here was good old TDR, proudly posed in his W & G finery, and on a crate just behind him was stenciled "Abercrombe and Fitch", W & G's competitors at that time! How did the editor miss THAT one??!! Regards. Michaelson
