Spielberg Won't Be Directing Jurassic 3

Cinescape reports that Spielberg will only help produce Jurassic Park 3. It would appear that now the only other film projects he has on his schedule which could delay Indy 4 are Memoirs of a Geisha and Minority Report. It was also previously reported that Minority's release date has been pushed back, which could also help free him up to do Indy 4.

"Johnston Helming ‘JP3’
Joe Johnson (Jumanji, The Rocketeer) has been picked to
helm the third Jurassic Park film. According to Variety, a
story concept (which was not revealed) was concocted by
Steven Spielberg, who will also produce. The trade also
reports that Jurassic creator Michael Crichton will take part
in the production as producer but will be fairly passive in the
creative area. The script is currently in the process of being
written by Craig Rosenberg collaborating with Johnson.
Universal is said to be putting the film on the fast track with
hopes of starting production in early 2000."
