: : Reiger, you said in a post that the epaulettes seemed a bit to the front. I found this also, so I don't think it's your build. I've yet to see a good pic of the original that doesn't suggest that the epaulettes are supposed to be that way. Check out the Raiders Gallery on this site - page 2 - which shows a few movie shots with the shirt.

: : Does anyone who owns the shirt feel that the colour is not "khaki" or "stone" enough? From what I can see from the movies and photos, the shirt should be a little less beige. The only thing is I do feel that the shirt in Raiders differs slightly from LC. Maybe I'm wrong. It's also a fact that with a few washes (which I think the new Indy shirt needs) it will fade in colour slightly and the material will become more supple and worn in looking.

: : After all this though, I do think the shirt is still perfect.

: : Regards to all,

: Hi Brian:
: As to the colour of the shirt; it really does depend what kind of light you are in. I've also seen some "candid" behind the scenes photos from the films and the shirt looks more khaki like. I suppose that the harsh lighting they use in films would absolutely change the colour on screen. I'm positive that Noel Howard just didn't use any old fabric that MBA had laying around; he took the time to find a cloth which is probably as close to the original patterns as he could get. At least I assume that, or you'd think the shirt would've been available right away. I'm a little nervouse about washing it right now, let us know how it turns out!

I, for one, am completely satisfied with the M.B.A. shirt. It
is the best-looking, most comfortable shirt I have EVER worn. I
even e-mailed Mr. Howard with a letter of praise, and I plan on
purchasing one or two more in the future because they look so
good. The color is right on the money- walk outside in the sunlight
and it looks just as it did in the Raiders Kairouan shots; go inside
a building and it looks like the grayish-tan that it was inside
Pankot Palace when Indy was in his room. When you sweat in it, it
becomes that exact sweat-induced color as it was in Cairo from
Raiders. And, not to worry- washing it will not hurt it. For
starters, you should wash it in your kitchen sink in cold water,
with some soap powder laundry detergent; just get it completely
soaked (it will become dark brown-like) and lather it up. The white
M.B.A. tag will turn totally blue, but will return to it's original
white color when the garment is dried. (However, the INDYWEAR typed
letters will completely erase, as they are not permanent ink).
Then, drain the sink and refill it with fresh, clean cold water
and rinse the shirt completely. Ball it up and squeeze the water
out of it. (It will wad up really small, because of the thinness
of the material. Then put it in the dryer on low heat for about
20 to 25 minutes. Presto!!! Totally clean. Now it is ready to be
ironed. (Iron must be set on lowest heat) I have done this complete
washing process to my shirt twice and it comes out perfect.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: You MUST wash the shirt in COLD water first to
prevent shrinkage. Once it has been washed once in cold water, the
size had been established and the shirt should never shrink after
that. Hope this helps you out.

Happy adventuring,

Dale Dassel
