THe shirt hem is simply "overlocked" (stitching to stop the edge draying). It would have been nicer to have it hemmed or turned over, but when it's tucked in, who sees it? ALso, the originals may be the same, so they'd be quicker to make.

I agree with you, Sean; there is only one true replica shirt on the market just now and those who don't have it, if you can afford it, just buy it. I could be the scare-monger by saying Noel Howard might stop making them then you'd be kicking yourself. Remember the panic when people thought Wested were discontinuing the jacket? Or Herbert Johnson had closed down?
