I think that the films would've been lighter in tone, with Indy delivering more one-liners intended for humor. There would have probably been at least one sequel, but I doubt that Selleck would've been associated with the role in the same way that Ford is. Even though we would have known him as Indy first, his role as Magnum would've still reached more people. Week after week people would equate him with the role, and in the process he would be receiving regular media coverage for this role. It would've been at least two seasons before he could've reminded people of his role as Indy in a sequel.
