: does anyone have any idea how Wested Leather and Peter Botwright stand legally in making reproduction indy jackets? has he had any contact with Lucasfilm after the actual film production?

: don't get me wrong I'm not out to critisise his operation as I've ordered a jacket from him myself and applaude his willingness to make them available to the public. maybe Toht at lucasfilm licensing is having a good day and is content to leave him alone!!! :O)

That's easy... Like all of the Indiana Jones outfit components,
the jacket just happens to be the item they used for the films.
Though the particular model in question is referred to as the "Raiders"
Jacket, it is not OFFICIALLY LICENSED as an Indiana Jones jacket, and,
therefore does not require Lucasfilm's o.k. to sell it. Besides, it is
the creation of Wested Leather and not Lucasfilm. Hope that helps clear
up things for you.
