Yes! I think that Indy IV (IF of course there will be ever filmed (-:)
will be a very nice Indy-film. But why do I say that? What was the main
reason that some guys thought that Indy IV will be a 'failure' ? It is
that Ford's too old for that now(is he 53? In his fifties anyway). At
least that's what they think. And somehow I don't exactly disagree that
Ford's kind of old for doing action films. But again, on the other
hand, Indy IV will be very interesting exactly because ford is nowadays
old! What I mean: In a series of films with the SAME character as main
actor (Indiana Jones/Ford here), usually the character remains the same
in all of the films(he has always the same age, or ABOUT the same age
[like most Bond films] ). So, since the character remains the same, the
interesting 'part' of the upcomming new 'episode' or 'movie' is the
plot, or other actors etc. But what will make Indy IV VERY interesting
is that, BEYOND the usual vulnerable things (plot etc), the MAIN
character himself (Indy) will be a vulnerable element, because his age
will be much 'bigger' than the other Indy movies. What I am waiting
mostly on Indy-IV, is not so much to see a good plot and scenario, but
firstly to see HOW Indiana himself will be presented, as a much older
person now. Is he going to remain energetic, althought he's gonna be
50 years old, and keep the hero-style, althought old now? Is Indy going
to become like Henry, a man of studies? Is he going to retire from
action? Will he be married? Have children? Maybe someone who will
somehow 'continue' his job/action ?

To make it short, there will be an EXTRA interesting element in the new
INDY movie, that will maybe make it EVEN better than if Indy(Ford) was
still young: That will be Indy himself.

And something else: If the idea of a hero excites me one time, the idea
of an Old-Hero excites me twice! That happens because if the old hero
is still... hero (as when he was young), then he is two times hero. And
that happens because he now has a new enemy to face: His own age. As an
old song mentioned, where a single soldier talked to someone with a
higher degree: "The worse enemy, liutemant, is time itself" (or in
original: "Giati o heiroteros ehthros einai lohia o kairos") :-P

Comments? Ideas? (Disagreements? (-:) What does everyone think?
