Indiana Jones and the Recasting of Death

There's always a chance that another actor could be a huge success as Indy, but that's not what puzzles me.

I see a lot of posts from people saying that they would want Indy to continue whether Ford plays him or not, yet they've also stated that they don't like the sequels that we've already gotten! If you don't like the sequels to begin with, why do you want them to continue?

You know they wouldn't have Indy doing anything more than going after increasingly trivial artifacts, and in the process allowing the series to become a parody of itself.
