: : : : : Notice in Last Crusade when they reach the tomb of Sir Richard: First, Indy makes the rubbing and puts it in his suit pocket. Then, they hear the fire and go under water. Later, in the apartment, Indy is seen reading the rubbing with Marcus and it's completely DRY!! So, my question is: Is this possible?

: : : : : Please RESPOND!!!!

: : : : : "Okie dokie, Dr. Jones. Hold on to your potatoes!!" Shorty--Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

: : : : Hey. I've noticed this too. Maybe Indy has some sort of oilskin
: : : : pocket in his coat. Or maybe George Lucas realized that if the
: : : : rubbing got all soggy, Indy would never find the Grail. Just my two
: : : : cents.

: : I don't have the video right here to confirm, but didn't he keep the rubbing in the grail diary, held closed by the rubber band? That would keep the rubbing fairly dry, but would mean the dairy would have gotten wet, even if held tightly closed by the rubber band. Ever seen how a book swells up when it gets a little water on the edges of the pages?

: : Oh well - it’s just a movie, right?

: : Patterson

You're right! He pulled the rubbing out of the diary, didn't he. Hmmmm....
