: Ok on Raiders when "the big guy" gets killed by the propellars of the funky lookin plane, everyone says "The blood is on the cockpit window then it disapears." it's not the cockpit window, its the gun turret window! Somehow Marion must've got to the turret window and back to the cockpit window. Indy shot the lock of the cockpit window. The only two(?) observations about the plane itself in the fight is how can Marion or whoever is in the plane, shift from the cockpit to the gun turret. And why would there be a plane where the lock is on the outside? Indy had to shoot it right? well see yas, shorty.
: "Oh great more boats!" -Indy, LC

It's all supposition, considering the flying wing was a mock up of proposed Northrop (sp?) aircraft design, but the flying wing prototypes that were actually built did indeed have a LOT of room inside that allowed for pass through from one area to another without having to exit the plane then reboard. As to the cockpit "lock", well, I have read of many cockpits that have jammed upon closure. The newer cockpits have an explosive devise that literally blows the canopy clear of the plane before the pilot leaves to effectively eliminate this problem in case of emergency. You can read about a lot of WWII pilots who were trapped in their cockpits for one reason or another regarding a jammed canopy and had to fly their shot up planes back to their fields to be "cut" out of the wreckage simply because the mechanism jammed. It wasn't all that uncommon during that time period. Regards. Michaelson
