You did not say whether it was new or pre-distressed. I suspect pre-distressed. The reason it is puffy is because it is NOT the same material as used in the movie. Lambskin, as opposed to HIDe, is very thin and strong and should "drape" well. I have six different leather jackets of various leathers, and I know that is the case. That is why I ordered the "new" version and will distress it myself with very fine sandpaper. If you are carefull, there is little or no risk of hurting the jacket. I already did it with my A2 jacket in goatskin and it came out great. By the way, that is how they did it for INdy
