There're actually pretty obvious reasons why there is more Star Wars merchandise than Indy. For starters, Indy movies didn't have all of the cool aliens that you can make toys out of of, and let's face it, kid's dig aliens. Secondly, the money that Lucas made from Star Wars merchandising was poured into building ILM and financing the other Star Wars films - not so the case with Indy. Paramount pretty well financed the whole shabang if I'm not mistaken, where 20th Century Fox played more of a puppet distibutive role with the Star Wars films. I actually think that it's a lot of fun to track down Indy related items if you want them, kind of like a Indy-ish treasure hunt in it's own right...
