FIRST PLACE WINNER of TRIVIA CONTEST ANNOUNCED!!!

Okay, guys, we have a winner at last...

After the initial triva, Doug and Gilles tied for first place at 217 points. And then after sending them an additional set of 5 questions, they tied once again at four points each. I then had to send them both the following 2nd set of questions...

QUESTIONS AS FOLLOWS:

1. Where did Spielberg and Lucas first meet?

2. Lucas was the one who envisioned the character of Indiana Jones.
But who introduced the notion of the Ark of the Covenant as the "engine of the
story"?
D. Phillip Kaufman (Source: Lucas bio)

3. In regards to RAIDERS, looking back, who said "Anybody who couldn't
have fun doing that picture must have been dead for several years"?
C. Ford (Source: Lucas bio)

4. Lucas served as an uncredited executive producer and backup
"sponsor" for which of these acclaimed films, as a favor?
D. Body Heat

5. The Arab extras for the desert sequences earned:
B. ten dinars a day (Source: Taylor)

6. Name the hotel by the beach where Lucas told Spielberg about the idea for RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK.

And the winner is...

DOUG IRVING, who got all of these questions correct. This puts Gilles Verschuere in second place.

Never have I seen such an incredible, vast knowledge of Indy trivia. And that they both sent in their answers to me within HOURS of my mailing them to you was...unbelieveable.

Well done, you two. You are a force to be reckoned with. If I held any more trivia contests, you'd surely take all my other Indy offerings!

The prizes that I am offering myself are as follows. The first place winner gets the first choice of selection between:

1. An autographed picture of Ford as Indy, with a COA from the person I bought it from (for a hefty price). You can view a scan of it on Micah's page.

2. The TEMPLE OF DOOM ILLUSTRATED SCREENPLAY

You both will receive a copy of the RAIDERS script.

Other prizes to be offered by other people will be announced when they are confirmed. (Micah, Michaelson, please let me know.)
