Why, oh why, do we have to keep waiting??

Reports are that we'll be waiting til 2005 for Indy IV and if that's just for filming then it could be 2006 or 2007 before the film hits theatres. Indy IV is on hold til Lucas finishes the other two "Star Wars" films. Why do we have to wait til then? Lucas is only going to produce Indy IV. Can't he do that without it interfering with his filming of "Star Wars" or vice versa? Lucas only spent a week on the set during filming of each of the other Indy films so why can't production go on without him? He could be kept abreast of the film's development while he works on "Star Wars." Every other filmmaker works on two or three films at the same time. I just don't see what the delay is.
