Double Message theory

I have noticed that when I make a post to the forum, then return to the forum page, there is no sign of my post at all. I have to hit reload/refresh in order to update the page on my computer.
Is it possible that this is what is causing people to post the same message twice? Perhaps they go to the forum, don't see the clever words they have just written, then use the "back" button to find their post and hit the "Post message" button again.
Am I way off base here, or just stating the obvious?
