Mine look great with the creases ironed out. I am not certain, but from talking to my wife, I think that the pleats are there because when pants are made, it is easist to make sure the legs are the same width and everything lines up, etc., if the legs are creased, so they lie flat, and the seams are lined up perfectly that way. Just put your iron to the wool setting and follow the instructions. It takes a bit to get them out but it is possible!
