I love ToD. As I do the other two. It's true that it is darker than Raiders and LC. It let's us see darker side of Indy, the treasure hunter for the sake of hunting treasure Indy. Just see how his face lights up after the little boy gives him the cloth. "Sankara". There seems to be an element of betrayal running through the whole movie. Everyone who is under the spell of the Kali is betraying themselves. Even Indy unwillingly betrays himself, Willie, and Shorty. He also gets beat with his own bull whip. Which Indy bad guy would you least like to run into in a dark alley? I admit also that I'm a bit of an purist, I like the Indy movies, I like 'em all. I like The SW movies, I like 'em all.
