When Indy says "Let 'er Go", he is holding his gun in his left hand because the whip is in his right. (You can clearly see the handle and loop in the still from this scene). I suppose he drops it, fights and picks it up on his way out. When he and Marion are walking out and then talking in front of the burning bar, he has the whip neatly coiled in his right hand.
It also just occured to me that some of this may have been cut off of the pan n scan video. I've been watching the widescreen LD Indy movies for so long. I hate pan n scan. GGGRRRR!! I think the movie makers should force people to watch movies at home with "those little black bars" on their screens. Just my aggravated opinion.
