I decided to wear my Alden's on a business trip, which I've just returned from. I have never had such trouble getting through the metal detectors as I did with those boots on! I kept explaining that they have a steel shank in them. The security folks are more used to picking up the metal in the toe. I actually had to take them off at LAX. I felt a bit sorry for the poor guy who had to stick his face into my boots after 5 days in the 100+ Southern California weather!

Oh, well...
