I first saw it on the big screen. The droid hieroglyphs are onscreen for a longer time in widescreen format, but you can still catch it on video if you're quick with the pause button.

Here's the relevant bit I wrote about seeing it at the Greenbelt Theater back in April:

I finally saw the R2-D2/C3PO hieropglyphs in the Well of Souls.
It's on the column to the left of Indy (his right) when they're opening
the stone lid off the Ark. Since I knew where to look I could also
see it when I went to the videotape. It's onscreen much longer
in the fullscreen version, but only for a split second on video.
Pause the tape as Sallah moves in position to lift the lid, before
he obscures the column to the left of Indy.

If you don't see it, I guess you'll just have to buy the widescreen release in Oct./Nov.
