There are cranck who claim to be Christians... such as Jim Baker and the whole TBN bunch, who in reality don't seem to know much about the Bible.
The Teletubbie thing was actually another hoax. Falwell issued a statement pointing out that he'd never said any such thing, and in fact, when he heard about it he'd just bought the purple one to give one of his nephews!
