I'm glad someone finally is addressing the leather treatment, as Wested has not been able to ship "leather groom." Recently I have been asking around about treatments, and it seems there are many companies making proprietary concoctions. One treatment seems to have more "name" credibility than others. David Morgan (the Indy whip maker) lists a "Pecards" leather treatment, which is claimed to be used in conservation (museum) practices as well as conditioning for an active whip. Though I have not used it yet, it sounds like a trustworthy source. Also, you may try other trustworthy shops (like LL Bean) who sell all sorts of great products including leather goods. I plan on trying several products to find what works best. Good luck.
