Hi,

I have no experience with the Noel Howard strap specifically, but all the straps I made did stop giving up dye once I sat there with a rag and rubbed all the excess dye out of it. The dye will stain a shirt in a big hurry, so make sure to get the excess out! A fringe benefit to doing it is that you'll work the leather until it's very soft and flexible.
