I would have to concur with michaelson,Abner and the others on this one.
Im afraid thats the way things went back then.Notice how indy treats
shorty as a grown up,well most of the time anyway.This reflects the fact that
children (esp short round) were forced to maturity much quicker than nowdays
Indy had confidence in Shorty.I mean he was the one who saved indy
for crying out loud.
As for Anakin,the reason QUI GON let him race was that he was 100%
sure that he would win.Notice how he dident watch the race.HE only
closed his eyes.He could sense no danger.Even watto says afterwards
"somehow you knew that boy was going to win!" However when he could sense REAL
danger he told him to "stay in the cockpit" for his saftey.
I find Lucas very Pro-children and i do not agree with you on this one.
