I just got back from my NJ hometown, which was seriously damaged --
and ravaged -- by Hurricane Floyd. It's quite surreal and
heartbreaking to see the place where you grew up almost completely
destroyed. While there were no casualties where I live, many of the
neighborhoods (this is one of NJ's oldest towns) including the main
street business district were entirely flooded. The waters have
pretty much receded, but their damage rotted and polluted almost
everything.

The section was blocked off by authorities (to prevent looting, etc)
but volunteer cleaners were allowed to enter under supervision.
Pretty intense. I managed to contact a friend of mine through the Red
Cross, whose home was completely wrecked. (My house, thank God, was
untouched, though the water made its way to my street.) Problem is,
because the town is not in a floodplain, many of these people do not
have flood insurance, and families have lost everything.

Anyway, on the lighter side, I just received a beautiful T-shirt for
INDYFAN.COM, courtesy of Micah. It really looks wonderful.

I'll be sending out the last of the trivia prizes over the course of
this week. Some of you have already received them. If you do not get
yours by mid-October, email me and I'll find out what happened.
(International mailings, I believe, take around 10 days to 2 weeks.)

Let me know how all
