Did you know Tom Stoppard tweaked Jeffrey Boam's Last Crusade Script?

It was in an article a few months ago in the New York Times Magazine. Apparently, Tom Stoppard -- a distinguished playwright and co-author of Shakespeare in Love -- was called in for one of Last Crusade's revisions (presumably the final one). As a reward for the film's success, Spielberg sent him a one-million dollar thank you.

Is this common knowledge? I don't think I've heard it anywhere else.
