What if Lucas is having everyone say not for 5 years, and has hired employees to write fake scripts as the real thing, and post them on the internet, but really is working on Indy IV secretly? Even going so far as to use the cover of another movie, (just like Blue Harvest, which was the cover for ROTJ) He could have put something in everybody's contract, that said that they agreed to misdirect the public. That could explain a lot of anomalies of people who say 3 years, five years etc.
