Fedora ribbon question

A few questions about Indy fedoras:
1) Why do all the repro Indy fedoras have the ribbon bow sticking up at each bow end?
2) In Raiders, the bow is tucked down and close to the band so:
3) Is there a way you can order or DIY to keep the ribbon bow ends close to and in line with the ribbon band?
