Indy's grey fedora...

Like most men in the thirties Indy probably had different hats for different occasions. The grey one appears to be Indy's dress fedora, the one he wears for air travel or for meeting Army guys in Washington.
The brown one is for fighting Nazis and swimming in South American rivers.
