Goofy weapons wouldn't you think?

On Raiders at the end when the Nazis hijack Kateinga's boat, if you look carefully when they're talking you can see that there is something clogging the barrel of one of the Nazi's rifles. And on ToD when the Thuggees are chasing Indy before he gets to the rope bridge you can see that some of their swords smack against the branches of the trees and the swords kind of bend. And on LC at the end it looks like there is computer graphic "Slugs" in the barrels of the Nazi's rifles. If you don't know what I mean, "Slugs" were those black blotches on the Emperor's cloak on ROTJ. They use em to blotch out things I guess. Is there any explanation for this? Well see ya's, Shorty.
