: I was watchin' tv a few days ago and I seen one of those regular Pontiac commercials with the cowboys who jump into the jeep and comment on how good it is and such, and this one was deinately Indy inspired! The cowboys instead jump from their horses into jeeps and one of the guy gets dragged with a lasso like Indy did on Raiders! Yes, this caught my eye too!
He is sliding, but it appears that his torso is planted on a special
dolly or something.

No, In response to Dr. Jones post below--I believe that this was the first
movie to feature this style maneuver under a truck. Although the concept
was borrowed--the "gag" was original I believe.
Check the two segment making of raiders video--the stuntmen thoroughly
discuss this stunt.
