I agree that they found ways to insert these historical meetings into "Young Indy" in ways that seemed plausible at least. It's really just the fact that Indy met a different person every week and the fact that "Young Indy" had almost no action that turned me off to the show.

By the way, I love the Andy Griffith show. One of my all time faves. I had an idea a few years ago for a series of Andy Griffith mystery novels since my fave episodes were the ones where Andy and Barney actually solved a crime. These novels would be kind of like a police procedural set in Mayberry and done with a comic touch.
