The submarine mockup itself came from "Das Boot", but all the footage was shot by Spielberg for Raiders. This is covered in detail in the "Making of Raiders of the Lost Ark" paperback, copyright 1981, and in the "Making of..." TV special of the same year. Regards. Michaelson
