According to my doctor, yes, that is actually correct. You're supposed to have at least 1/2" or more in front of your longest toe. Interesting, but it works as that is what I have in my Aldens, and they have not given me one minute of problem. On the contrary, they've have been the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned. Regards.
