I didnt think that the 1150's were that good of a substitute. The palms seemed to bulky, and they didnt feel as comfortable-but im sure they are strong.
The glove I am impressed with as a nice substitute are the 926 gloves, or maybe it was 962, anyway they are made out of deerskin, which is VERY comfortable. They seem to be the same cut and style as the 1123's, and the color is a darker brown. I really like them.
But go to the store and check them out for yourself, both are good gloves.
