As far as Sallah saying "They call him Bellosh." It would make some sense that he got it wrong the way you said if he'd seen it in writing. Then he might have pronounced BELLOCH as Bellosh. But Sallah clearly says that Bellosh is what the Germans called him so he must have just misheard.
My question is how did Indy know Sallah was talking about his Belloq. Sallah only said he was a French archeologist and that he was very clever and named Bellosh. Isn't there more than just one clever archeologist in France? Belloq and Bellosh are not so similar that they couldn't be two different men. Yet Indy knew instantly that the Germans had hired his old nemesis.

Anybody got an explanation for that???
