I've always heard about the Golden Gate bridge shot being a film flub in "Raiders" but I'm not so sure. Since it takes years to build a bridge can we really go by the date that it was opened to traffic. I mean, if it opened in May of 1937 then wouldn't it have to have been standing in the bay mostly finished in 1936? The main construction would be done and all that was left would be painting the bridge and some of the smaller detail work. I think the bridge would have existed in the bay for the most part in 1936 and would've been visible from the plane. It just wouldn't be open to the public yet.
Of course I don't remeber from seeing the movie if the showed the bridge from close enough where you could see if there was cars and other stuff on the bridge.

Does anybody know for sure about any of this?
