: To all Indy fans:

: I know that many people here have Ark theories. This one may be true. I was watching the history channel one night and they had
: a program on about the Ark. Well, they said that it was found
: somewhere around Turkey, I think. The Ark is located in a walled
: city(like a castle) and it is guarded by twelve priests. Nobody
: is allowed to go in except these 12 certin priests. There is
: someone always with it. It is never opened up(if you remember there was
: a curse in it just like in Raiders meaning that if you opened the Ark
: up, you would release spirits. Well, these people do not offer any
: proof that they actually are guarding the Ark. You have to take them
: at their word. The Ark is in something like a mosque or some holy temple. It is not in the hands of the jews, though. Well, just thought I'd post this. Off to seek more fortune and glory.

Hey. I believe the country is Ethiopia, and the Ark is guarded by
priests of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. I think the church is
near the ancient city of Axum. Old stories say that Solomon's son by
Sheba, Menelik, stole the Ark after being ill-received by his father
in Jerusalem. Just my two cents.

PS Mussolini invaded Ethiopia in 1935-36 to avenge Italy's defeat in
an 1896 battle at the hands of Emperor Menelik II. One wonders what
Il Duce thought of the old legend of the Ark of the Covenant, and why
he never bothered to disturb it.
