I can't answer as to the differences between the film jacket and Wested's offering, but I've noticed something else peculiar.

I have two Wested's. The first didn't fit real well, so I reordered to get a jacket I felt comfortable in. Yes, I really wanted an Indy jacket.

There are differences between these jackets ordered less than a year apart. Most noticeably is the zipper. The first had that cool-looking heavy duty zipper with the huge pull.

The second zipper was less heavy duty looking and had some kind of hinged pull- not near as big. Both were YK zippers, but completely different styles. Not a big deal I suppose, as the zipper is hidden.

Just thought it was interesting. Thought I'd get a carbon copy and didn't.

The second jacket also seemed heavier, but maybe that's just because it was a bigger size. Also, the lining in the second looks darker, and it has a sewn-in leather loop.
