perhaps the only bone lucasfilm will throw us indy fans is the special editions george lucas mentioned a while back. i believe he even stated it would be a greater endeavor than the star wars special editions. i'm postive there are countless "lost scenes" from all three movies, as well as numerous ways to "touch up" some effects that didn't translate well onto film. although a 4th installment would be more inspiring, the special edition project sounds quite exciting in itself. or, maybe lucas plans to revamp the trilogy, release it again, and use that money for a whole new indy franchise.

i really wouldn't mind some other indy novels; i don't know what bantam's problem is. i really enjoyed the grittier stories told by rob mcgreggor. perhaps lucasfilm is putting a hold on new books to ensure certain plot points are left free to explore in a new film.
