The rumour about Area 51 and UFO's being the subject of Indy IV sounds like crap to me. First, I don't see any logical reason for an archeologist to be investigating something like that. Plus it's been done to death in other movies and TV shows so I don't think it's plausible that Spielberg/Lucas/Ford would waste Indy IV on something like that.
I personally hope they'll stick with the Nazis as villians. "Last Crusade" took place in 1938 and just because it was made ten years ago doesn't mean the next one has to take place in 1948 or above. They could believably set Indy IV in 1944 or 45. Then Indy's actions could have some strong effect on the outcome of the war.
