It's true! Check out the state of his hair when he treads water in that (absolutely amazing) demo...

OK, so it's 1947... Indy's 48 years old... But Harrison Ford is older than that now and he still has a fullish head of hair!!!

Heh, maybe they told HF how long it'd be before he'd get to do another film and he decided he'd be going bald by then... ;-)
